What to Expect

Tailored nutrition therapy for improved health, wellness, and athletic performance through personalized meal strategies.

Initial Consultation

This comprehensive assessment lasts 1.5 hours. The focus of this visit is learning your health history, food preferences, and concerns. An individualized nutrition plan will be established during this appointment to address your unique health goals. Your dietitian will provide the information and nutrition therapy you need to get started. Customized meal plans will provided within one week of this appointment, which will be created based on your food preferences and goals discussed at this visit.

Follow-Up Sessions

These sessions are for providing ongoing support while you work toward your goals. You and your dietitian will discuss which parts of your nutrition plan are going smoothly and where your are struggling. Adjustments will be made based on your progress and changing needs. Additional education and nutrition therapy will be provided so you can develop new skills and lifestyle changes to maintain your results.

Nutrigenetic counseling uses a DNA test to create a nutrition plan for your specific genetic profile. The tests are completed by 3x4 Genetics, which is completely HIPPA compliance so you can rest assured knowing that your DNA is secure and private. A cheek-swab test will be mailed to your home with a postage paid return envelope. It will take about 3 weeks for the lab to process your test, then your dietitian will contact you for an appointment when the results are available. During the consultation, your dietitian will explain how your genetic profile affects your nutrition and exercise needs. They will make recommendations for foods to include, lifestyle modifications, and supplements that will help optimize your genetic potential for good health. You will also receive a detailed report of your full genome and an analysis of how your genes influence your fitness, disease risk, mental health, nutrition, and more.
